Mechanisms of salt stress tolerance in <i>Casuarina</i>: a review of recent research

Salinization is a global concern whose extent predicted to progressively increase over this century. In context, biosaline agriculture has been included in the set of climate-smart solutions support sustainable and resilient ecosystems. The Casuarinaceae family widely known for its intrinsic ability thrive under saline environments. Therefore, understanding mechanisms underlying salt-tolerance utmost importance landscape integration soil rehabilitation. mini-review, we present state art Casuarina research – from gene ecosystem response salinity, towards green growth development. Based on literature retrieval 2000 2021, general overview salt-stress tolerance presented, contribution root-nodule arbuscular mycorrhizal symbioses, as well related eco-physiological molecular changes are discussed.
